Most questions have quick answers. If yours doesn't, email hello@civicspass.app and a human will reply.

The app doesn't hear me

Check that CivicsPass has microphone and speech recognition permission in iOS Settings → CivicsPass. In a loud room, use the keyboard button during the interview to type instead — you can switch back any time. If an answer runs long, tap "Done answering" to submit it immediately.

My governor / senator / representative is marked wrong

Set your state in Settings, and pick your representative from the list — which one is yours depends on your congressional district, so the app asks rather than guesses. Officeholders refresh weekly from official records; if one is still wrong, email us and we will correct it at the source.

An answer was scored wrong

Tap "This was graded wrong" on that question's card — it flags the answer for review and helps make scoring better for everyone. The full accepted-answer list is shown on every question, right or wrong, so you can compare exactly what was expected.

Listening mode stopped when I locked the phone

It shouldn't — the Listen tab is built to keep playing with the screen off, with controls on the lock screen. If playback stops, make sure Low Power Mode isn't ending background audio, and that the app is up to date.

How do I delete my data?

Settings → Delete all my data. Everything — sessions, statistics, preferences — is removed from the device and our servers immediately. See the privacy page for what is stored in the first place.

Is this an official USCIS app?

No. CivicsPass is an independent study tool, not affiliated with USCIS or any government agency, and it does not give legal advice. The questions are the official 2025 civics test questions, verified against the USCIS document.
