These terms apply to the CivicsPass app and this website. By using either, you agree to them. They are written to be read, not skimmed — the short version is: CivicsPass is a study tool you use at your own risk, and passing your interview is up to you.
A study tool, nothing more
CivicsPass helps you practice for the civics portion of the US naturalization test. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to USCIS or any government agency. It is not legal advice, immigration advice, or a substitute for either. For questions about your case, consult a licensed attorney or an accredited representative.
No guarantee of results
Using CivicsPass — however much — does not guarantee you will pass the civics test, your interview, or any part of the naturalization process. Interview outcomes depend on many things outside this app, including the questions you are actually asked, the officer's judgment, and the rest of your application. You use CivicsPass at your own risk, and we are not responsible if you do not pass.
Accuracy of content
We work to keep the questions faithful to the official USCIS material and the officeholder answers current, and we correct errors when we find them or you report them. Even so, content may at times be incomplete, out of date, or wrong — an election can change an answer overnight. Always verify against official USCIS materials, which are the only authoritative source. Scoring of spoken answers is automated and can make mistakes; the app lets you flag any answer you believe was scored wrong.
No warranty
CivicsPass is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not promise the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any given moment.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CivicsPass and its creator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or website — including a failed test, a denied application, missed deadlines, or decisions made in reliance on the app's content or scoring. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim (currently zero, while the app is free).
Acceptable use
Don't abuse the service: no attempting to disrupt it, probe its backend, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend access that does.

Changes
We may update these terms as the app evolves. The date above changes when they do, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
